Water Slide Transfer Overglaze Decals for Ceramic, Porcelain, Earthenware and Stoneware.
Firing between Cones 018-016/ 1350-1465°F/ 730-800°C.
Once applied these decals need to be fired in a kiln. They cannot be fired in a home oven. These decals work best with light colored glazes.
These decals are food safe with the flux but as the pigment could possibly contain trace amount of lead and cadmium, they might not be Prop 65 with the covercoat only.
Digital Decal Details
- Best suited for photographic type images

- Printable area is 10.5"x16" or 26,6x40,6cm
- Digital decals are only printed with cyan, magenta or red, yellow, and black mineral pigments. For white or metallic colors you would need to print silkscreen decals.
We offer 2 different decal finishes:
- Covercoat: The covercoat is a single layer finish that will burn away during the firing. Depending on the softness of the glaze, the decal will be more or less matte. With the covercoat only, the decals might not be prop 65. The decals with a covercoat only are not durable enough for dinnerware.
- Covercoat + Flux: The flux is a thin layer of glass applied over the decals to protect it and create a glossy finish. Despite the thickness of the flux being paper thin, this finish will leave a slight raised edge wherever you will cut the decals. The softer the glaze on the ware the less obvious it will appear. If you need flux, we usually recommend a full coverage of the ware, or you can also cut the decal close to the edge of the image. We recommend using flux with any outdoor products or dinnerware.

CERAMIC ARTISTS:
- These decals are generally applied as a third firing on top of an already fired glaze. Once applied, these decals need to be fired in a kiln to CONE 018 to CONE 016 (1450°F / 800°C). Once fired, the decals become permanently fused with the glaze, similar to decorative dinnerware.

The following are simply recommendations to get the most from our high resolution printing process.
- 300 dpi resolution will yield the best results. Lower resolution or blurry images will yield a poor decal quality.
- Setup your layout using your favorite design app. Our preferred format is PDF, PSD or TIFF but we will accept any formats.
- We will take any color profile knowing that the best for RGB is “RGB Adobe (1998)” and the best for CMYK is “CMYK SWOP coated”. The CMYK profile will give you a more accurate rendering of what the digital decals can achieve.
- The printable area is 10.5 x 16in or 26,6 x 40,6cm. Fill this area with your designs to maximize the space.
- Image files can be uploaded at time of purchase on the product page. They can also be sent after purchase to info@milestonedecalart.com. If your file is over 20MB you may need to use a free file sharing service like DropBox.com or Google Drive.
If your image doesn't meet these guidelines, don't fret! Send us the file and we'll let you know if we can make it work for you. (Design work may require a nominal set-up fee.)
PROCESSING TIME
Once your file is approved for printing, your decals will ship in 5-7 days.
Stock orders ship within 2-3 business days after the day your order was placed.
Custom silkscreen prints are usually processed within 5-7 business days after the day your order was placed.
Custom digital prints are usually processed within 12 business days after the day your order was placed.
Please note, we ship Monday through Friday 9-5 EST. This excludes weekends and major holidays.
UNITED STATES SHIPPING
For the standard shipping, we use a fully-tracked ground shipping service that takes approximately 2-7 business days. Please allow at least one day for the tracking to be updated order ships. Express service times will vary.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
For the standard shipping option, we use a tracked air shipping service that takes an estimated 6-18 business days. International shipping varies depending on exact location. Express shipping times will vary.
